A-hus building houses since 1947
Visitors to our plant in Anneberg, approximately 10 kilometres outside of Kungsbacka, sometimes compare it with an elf's workshop. Big logs go in one end and finished houses come out the other. The advantage of that approach is that we have control over the entire construction process.
Building 350 houses a year
We have been building houses since 1947. The company started off at the same place that it is located today. What began as a small, unassuming structure and a family concern has become an impressive plant at which new houses are built indoors.
We develop, build and sell approximately 350 houses every year. The Anneberg plant has about 120 employees. In addition, we have a number of sales reps around the country.
An important cog in the Derome Group
We are part of the Derome Group, which we often compare with a world in constant growth. The Group has subsidiaries in the areas of:
- Roof trusses and prefabricated structural components
- Building materials
- Houses and dwellings
- Timber purchasing
- Wood products
- Pellets and biofuels
The Derome is involved in the entire chain, from forest to finished houses. Both owners and employees take great pride in working with renewable construction materials.
Going back to 1947
Derome AB dates back to 1947, when Karl Andersson started a business with a circular saw bench in Derome. Second and third generation Anderssons are now running the Derome Group, which has become Sweden's biggest family-owned timber business.
Business concept – from forest to finished houses
Our business concept is to process and deliver wood products and construction materials from forest to finished houses in the way that is most reliable and cost-effective for customers. We are proud to say that we process timber better than anyone else in Sweden. Most of the Derome Group's business is in southern Sweden, where we have achieved a very prominent position. With our own plants in a number of different places, we offer a unique range of quality-assured products to the Swedish market, as well as a number of export countries.
Customised, top-notch quality
We always prioritise the requirements and expectations of our customers. Trust is the name of the game. Regular improvements are the foundation of our quality assurance system, which guarantees that our customers will receive customised, top-notch products when and where they are needed. We understand what our customers are looking for and take immediate action to make sure that they are never disappointed. Our production and sales companies are certified in accordance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard.
Timber for a sustainable environment
We at the Derome Group are anxious to protect the environment, and we are very grateful for the privilege of working with renewable construction materials. As opposed to other materials, timber is climate-neutral and contributes to a sustainable environment over the long term. Each subsidiary is responsible for its own environmental effort, which is constantly improving. We proactively strive to ensure that the products we manufacture and sell can be reused or recycled with the least possible resource consumption. During the process, we see to it that the by-products of our operations can be put back into new products or energy whenever possible.
Taking the next step
We have been building wooden houses for a long time. In recent years we have focused even more on sustainable development by promoting the use of biofuels for heating purposes. Most of our operations are certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard, and our sawmills hold PEFC Chain of Custody Certificates.
