Climate smart living means lowered energy costs and a reduced environmental impact.

We are able to meet energy requirements of today as well as tomorrow and we have the best interest for the environment, as well as being easy on your budget. We have a steady focus on design and function and implement sustainability in our practices without compromise. In other words, we are able to offer you a high standard of living to lowered energy-costs.

Keeping heat inside and moisture out

In order to reduce energy consumption of the house, our focus lies in a well-insulated, airtight building envelope consisting of windows, doors, walls, floors and ceilings. By doing this, we support our customers’ ability to make a long term investment for future alternative energy sources. By increasing the insulation content in walls, ceilings and foundations and in addition to low-energy windows, the energy use of our buildings is reduced and heat retention is maximised. To reduce air leakage we have a solution specific placement of the plastic foil which seals up the entire building envelope.

Our new energy wall with a smart 3-layer construction

Retaining heat in your house and keeping it protected from moisture requires a solid and dense wall construction, especially if you are building a house with high energy efficiency. This is something of our specialty - we have developed one of the best energy-walls on the market, where the continuous insulating layer (see figure, layer no. 3) provides a set of minimal thermal bridges and a moisture-protected frame where the plastic foil provides solid air-tightness.

- A 3-layer wall provides energy efficiency.
- Good air tightness due to strategic placement of plastic foils.
- A continuous outer insulation layer provides minimal thermal bridges and a moisture-protected frame.

Construction of the energy-wall:

1. 22 mm timber facade
6. 0,2 mm vapour barrier
2. 28 mm nail batten
7. 45 mm frame + insulation
3. 50 mm facade board/insulation
8. 11 mm OSB-board
4. Wind protecting, breathable paper
9. 13 mm plasterboard
5. 170 mm frame + insulation

Additional advantages:

- The house encompasses a building envelope that takes into account future heating systems and energy sources that are likely to require an adjusted/attuned such building envelope. Remodelling a house may improve energy consumption, but modifications to the construction itself is very complex.
- Heavier insulation reduces noise.
- Our energy-efficient 3-layer wall also works aesthetically as it lends to deep, beautiful window reveals.

Tips to further reduce your energy costs!

A well insulated house with low-energy technology provides you with low-energy living. There are also many things you can influence through your lifestyle. Did you know that:

- Low-energy light bulbs use only one fifth as much energy as ordinary light bulbs and they last ten times longer.

- Low-flow faucets and showerheads can reduce hot water consumption by up to 15 percent.

- For every degree you lower the indoor temperature, heating costs decrease by about 5 percent.

- An energy-efficient window only releases about one third of the heat compared with older two-paned windows.
